Before you think we’re crazy, did you know that Florida’s largest lake and the second largest lake in contiguous U.S., Lake Okeechobee, one of the best bass fishing spots in the whole world? Home to some of the world’s biggest tournaments (Bassmaster Elite Series, FLW Tour), Okeechobee is nearly 450,000 acres (730 square miles) of bass fishing heaven. Located in southern Florida, the lake averages around 9 feet in depth and contains a lot of vegetation, something rather unique for bodies of water its size. Other hot spots in the Orlando area allow you or your family to have other types of fun too. With a number of amusement parks nearby, families can enjoy the day in between fishing outings. Plus, if you are heading towards Disney, you can always bass fish on Bay Lake, right outside the Magic Kingdom. No matter how you look at it, Orlando can be a great destination for fishing and more! Marco Island, Florida

On the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, the southern tip of Florida offers a few great places to vacation. Marco Island is no exception to this rule and the six-by-four mile wide island provides nearly endless activities. Obviously Florida is known for its amazing golf courses, but travelers can experience much more than that. With the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Everglades so close together, the area is an amazing destination for fishing and boating. Just 10 miles from Naples, the shallow waters around Marco hold sport fish while the the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico offers a chance at catching larger species. These areas also make Marco Island a great destination for the sightseer. Driggs Idaho is a great place to go to enjoy the outdoors! Particularly, this Sundance Vacations destination is known for its fishing.
