Our Telephone Service Representatives (TSRs) are responsible for booking appointments for people to come in and participate in a multimedia presentation regarding the vacation packages we offer to travelers. TSRs call individuals and are given the opportunity to build our clientele. Marketing and sales go hand-in-hand in this role because although TSRs are selling the service, they are also communicating the value of our vacation packages.
Great question! There’s no experience required to become a TSR for Sundance Vacations. We will train you! Individuals with marketing or sales experience are sought after, however, managers will set aside time to prepare you for your new role. Whether that’s practicing making calls, watching others, or any aspect of the job that you need additional coaching. Sometimes we even prefer someone with no prior experience because they are so receptive to learning!
We seek people with positive energy and an uplifting attitude. We love finding the person who stands out, who has enthusiasm and drive to perform well.
“We don’t hire to fire, we really put a lot of effort into developing (your) skills to really be the best TSR (you) can be.” – Denise Miller, General Manager
An average day as a TSR at Sundance Vacations is quite fun actually! Most managers will play upbeat music to pump everyone up and boost the mood while calls are made.
“Enthusiasm doesn’t just have to come from the TSRs themselves, it also comes from the managers. It starts with us. We’re the ones who are going to get them excited! The high-fives, the good jobs, that’s what we do here. We want to encourage them to perform well.” –Ben Uzialko, Wilkes-Barre Marketing Divisions Manager
The culture here is very friendly and welcoming. We are team-oriented and highly objective-driven. We establish daily goals to encourage our TSRs to push for success. Friendly competition promotes a fast-paced and driven attitude. TSRs compete with other shifts to see which “family” can meet their goals for the week.
One game we love to play is called “Now You Have It, Now You Don’t.” We attach points to an object. Every time someone books a new traveler to attend a show, the TSR gets to steal the object. Everyone jokes about taking the prize from one another until the end of the shift.
The family atmosphere we create encourages comradery. We get down to business, but we also have a lot of fun!
“Often people will ask if they can stay later. They’re having so much fun that they don’t want to go home. Who can say that with the jobs that they do other than Sundance Vacations employees?”- Ben
Make full-time pay working part-time hours, that is the beauty of working a commission based job. You have a base starting pay, but essentially you make your own paycheck based on the number of shows you book. One additional advantage that Sundance Vacations offers is eligibility for benefits. After 60 days an employee is eligible for health, dental, vision, and life insurance. It is rare to find a part-time job that offers this to employees, however, here at Sundance Vacations we understand the importance of insurance coverage.
